Lights on the Lake is a celebration of art, light & community, situated along the Esplanade in Lakes Entrance. Art can be experienced by walking around the lake and the festival, run over 10 days (2 weekends) will include both free and ticketed experiences that will draw visitors to the region. Both local and external artists will be invited to participate in the event. Some key activities will include; - Light Art Walk - Floating lanterns - Indigenous dance - Lit Up Kids - Communal Fires - Night Bush Walks - Themes of mental health awareness - Art workshops

The festival will benefit the community by:
- increasing visitation during off-peak season, benefiting the local businesses during their quietest time of the year
- bringing local community groups and residents together during a typically isolated time of the year to rediscover their sense of place in a new way
- injecting expertise from visiting artists into the local area & bringing exposure to local artists work
- acknowledging & discovering the wealth of local indigenous culture & history through indigenous participation
- increasing the exposure of Lakes Entrance and East Gippsland as a great place to visit and live

This would be great to bring more people, and have something nice to do for the locals in the winter! As Lakes really doesn’t have enough

An event such as this will encourage visitors to our region during what is generally a quiet time and will also encourage local people to come together for an event that should appeal to,all age groups. Benefits will flow on to businesses in the community.

This will be a marvellous festival for Lakes Entrance, particularly as it is very very quiet here in winter, we need something to encourage people to come down and support the local businesses to open in the winter
