This project involves upgrading the lights to lower wattage LED ones (2000W to 1471W) at the Football Ground. The current lights are extremely inadequate for training purposes for senior and junior footballers (lumen readings are only single digits on one side) and also are creating issues with creating power surges through drawing so much current. These power surges have damaged a number of items of equipment such as fridges and hot water systems. Improved lighting with lower current requirements will address these issues, save on energy requirements and costs and benefit the many people who use the oval.
This project will benefit the local community through providing a much more usable community space. The current lighting is very poor (in places only 2 lumens) which presents a safety hazard to players (frequent ankle rolling and trips in the darkest sections) and through drawing excessive current is creating damage to other electrical equipment which then has to be repaired paid for by the club. Whilst footballers (senior and junior) will be the main beneficiary the oval is also used by cricketers as well as periodically by netballers, tennis players as well as CFA for training.

Lakers need new lights they have never had good lights in the first place
Let there be light at the home of the Lakers.
Yes!!
The lighting has come a long way since we trained under the light of one 240V globe mounted on the change rooms. The lighting now is insufficient and expensive and desperately needs upgrading. Upgrading will lower injury risk to members and players alike. It would also help lower club running expenses with lower power bills. All this help the club prosper through the coming years.
Yes this would be awesome
