Solar Lighting for Albert Park Lake will include 250 solar lights installed on the path around the lake. This will allow a safe and well illuminate walking, running and commuting path for community. The solar lights have no mains power connection or major infrastructure requirement, just the suns energy. Each solar light will charge from the sun during the day for bright illumination of the track during nighttime hours. This will allow safe and enjoyable access to the area for the local community, recreational users, daily commuters, families, rowers, walkers, runners and bike riders.

Solar Lighting for Albert Park Lake will improve the safety and usability of the popular area by addressing the current lighting issue on the path/track and surrounding parklands. This lighting issue creates a danger for the local community, exercisers, commuters, recreational users and sports trainers to use during evening or morning hours.

Fantastic idea for the local community! I haven't felt very comfortable walking around the lake at night and this proposed lighting plan sounds like a perfect solution to benefit the safety and usability of this popular destination.

Great idea Michael. All councils should be looking at solar to help power lighting in parks and recreation areas.
