To build work skills and confidence in planning, building and construction for individual students who have identified specific needs. These students are at risk of disengaging from school due to lack of connection to their learning and require specialised intervention to spend time out of the classroom, learning in a less-structured environment. The students will work in teams to plan then complete projects which will enhance the school environment with the aim to expand the project into the community, offering their services to complete real-life projects for local groups or individuals.

The project will help build the work ethic of targeted school students who are struggling to learn in the classroom. It is hoped that students will develop their practical skills in building and construction which will assist them to develop a pathway rather than drop out of school. The community benefits by keeping students with low aspirations in school, developing skills to take them into the workplace with a sense of self-belief and confidence. School and community projects that are completed will enhance facilities available in both the school and throughout the town.

Not all kids fit into the mould that school provides. This is a great opportunity for some of those kids to achieve success.

A great concept and deserves to get the Green Light. Education isn't about a "one size fits all" model. This is a great opportunity for all kids to be engaged and active in learning and education.

an excellent idea for students to learn some skills outside of the classroom to benefit them after school. Its great the school has an understanding that not all kids are academic and the classroom can be a place of struggle.
