I wish to create a community space where education, training and skills sharing can take place. This will be achieved through the use of discarded electronic equipment and the simple activities of dismantling, tinkering and creative re-use in an informal and open setting. This space will be accessible to students of all ages to support education through and between the ages. Parents and guardians of the students will be encouraged to support the younger students.
Creative re-use, experimentation and exploration of the technology will be supported through the provision of tools, expertise and weekly workshops.

The applicant has trialled the simple activities described in a primary and secondary school setting over the last 3 years. This has clearly demonstrated many educational benefits for the students (and their parents):
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) an important and high priority for the future
Creativity, a skill that has been acknowledge as indispensable in all areas of future employment
Training in the use of tools and digital technologies
Skills sharing will be facilitated by visits and workshops from expert volunteers part of the applicant’s network.
Education in the topical problem of disposal of this waste.
