We want to ignite an enthusiastic, inspiring and life-long love of learning for children in Daylesford and surrounding areas. Engaging in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) early can make a huge difference. Children love creating, making and building so we will develop hands-on robotics and coding activities for students in Daylesford, including: equipping the Daylesford Primary School STEAM centre with LEGO Education Kits, robotic technologies, iPads and teaching resources; running school holiday/after school programs in the local area; providing leadership opportunities for upper primary and secondary students and holding a community robotics event.

Daylesford is a small, close-knit regional town but with limited local resources, families find themselves traveling to access facilities and services. We need to encourage more local opportunities for our primary school children.

Many jobs in the fastest-growing industries require STEAM skills, so it’s vital we’re supporting our children to experience and build these skills. Robotics gives Daylesford’s young learners access to learn STEAM skills in engaging and inspiring ways. They will have fun while learning valuable problem solving, creativity and teamwork skills, helping to create their own future pathways and thriving regional communities.
