Kyabram's Active School Community

Outdoor fitness stations will provide accessible equipment and free fitness opportunities for all members of the Kyabram community to use. Kyabram P-12 College will utilise the stations as a part of their Physical Education program, while all of the Kyabram community will be able to use the stations outside of school hours to improve their fitness levels. The stations will become a part of the very popular Kyabram walking track.

Obesity rates in the area are increasing significantly. The Australia’s Health Tracker by Area statistics show the majority of the region incorporating Kyabram, Rushworth and Rochester is overweight or obese. 74.4 per cent of adults reported inactivity at the time of the survey. We hope that the introduction of fitness equipment at Kyabram P-12 College will benefit the whole community as it is free and accessible to all. This would be particularly beneficial for people with a low socioeconomic status.
