Kilmore Miniature Railway Development Proposal

The KMR located in Apex Park Kilmore has a workshop and storage shed. The track is approx 350m long with two creek crossings with a gauge of 7 1/4" . The aim of the project is to extend the track north and south to make it more visible to the public and more entertaining for the patrons. The Railway caters to all ages and will attract more visitors to Kilmore, improving local business trade and with the new track following the creek reserve extending from Bourke to Rutledge St. This will give more vitality to this great natural resource.

The KMR provides a regular monthly attraction for the youth of the Shire where there are not many regular activities outside of sport. We provide special event days such as Australia Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas Carols by the creek. We already attract visitors from outside the Shire adding to business activity in Kilmore. We also provide for young volunteers to participate in the running of the railway, giving them the opportunity to learn new skills.
