The building of a Skate Park in Kilcunda is essential to provide recreational activities to residents and visitors alike and form a central part of an activities area within Kilcunda. It will be highly visible for security and to promote usage and form an integral part of the Kilcunda Community's annual fundraising festival - The Lobster Festival - held every January. Kilcunda currently has no activity based facilities for the youth and this will create a central focus ensuring daily use through the entire year and as a site for competitions and training for this growing sport.

The Kilcunda community is a small coastal town of around 300 people who have no physical assets within the town for younger residents to meet and build community whilst participating in a sport they love. They have to either be driven by parents to surrounding towns for sport & recreation activities or use limited public transport. Skating is a very popular activity in Kilcunda with some homeowners resorting to building small ramps in their backyards. A new skatepark on the foreshore would enable a safe location for an ever increasing number of children to come together and build community.

I know as a teen living in kilcunda there is near nothing to do in the cooler parts of the year! This skate park would give other kids/teens the opportunity to get out of the house and get to know who is living in this beautiful town!

A skate park in Kilcunda will provide a confined and safe environment for the growing number of youths in our community and significant physical & mental health benefits. We strongly support this initiative.

A skate park in Kilcunda would provide a much needed, relevant and healthy space for our young people. A technology free place to meet and socialise, exercise and increase connectedness to this beautiful coastal community.

A skate park would be a great asset and focal point for the youth of Kilcunda, for the town itself, the community as well as the large volumes of tourists that come in and out of the township each year.

This will be a great asset to Kilcunda to provide recreational facilities for the local kids in the local area as there is limited facilities in walking distance and also accommodating the influx of tourism
