Installation of an automated watering system for the Kiewa Cricket Club oval and center wicket. The system is to comprise of: An upgrade of the water main that feeds the oval; sprinklers that will give complete coverage of the ground; A control system to control the watering of the ground including the duration and frequency of the watering cycle. The watering system will improve the playing surface of the oval making it safer for the players.

The main beneficiaries of the ground watering system will be the Kiewa Cricket Club and the teams that it plays in the Cricket Albury Wodonga competition. The watering upgrade will also enable the Cricket Club to host Junior Country week cricket matches and Cricket Albury Wodonga finals matches. All of the existing users of the oval will benefit from the watering system, walkers, joggers, dog walkers and exercise groups. The improvement to the ground facility will enable future use of the ground for other sports and community groups.

This is a very proactive and community active club. The club has a very strong youth platform and engages kids from a wide demographic. This project will enhance the condition of the oval and consequentially the surrounding grounds. This a very worthwhile project.
