Kicks for kids: community soccer clinic

According to the news, kids obesity is up and neighbourly behaviour is down. Sport brings people together and Soccer is still the biggest global sport.
The clinic will be run across two weekends by Melbourne City FC, in the following groups: 5years and under; 6-11 years; and 12-18 years.

Families within a 5KM radius of Delaray Park will be invited, via a social media campaign by Villawood Properties. All kids will receive a Melbourne City FC membership and soccer ball.

Beyond new friendships, legacy of the project will the installation of Soccer nets at Delaray Park.

The clinic will provide a springboard for new friendships – for both the kids participating, as well as their parents watching from the sidelines. These connections will contribute to promoting an inclusive, safe and connected community.

In terms of health and wellbeing, the clinic will introduce kids to a social, fun and active sport. To sustain this interest, kids will also be introduced to local leagues, so they can stay active by joining a Soccer team.

While hosted at Delaray Park, the clinic will be open to local families within a 5KM radius.
