Almost every parent knows the frustration of buying their child a toy and seeing it fall out of favour and tossed to the side within a matter of weeks, if not hours.
Whether they are broken, old or no longer wanted, many of these so-called plastic treasures end up in landfill.
Being a member of Kew Toy Library (KTL) means borrowing toys rather than buying them! Membership is open to all members of the community and membership fees cover operational costs only.
KTL also runs a variety of events free to everyone in the community throughout the year such as World Play Day, talks for new parents / mums groups and Stay and Play sessions. KTL also takes a range of toys to local festivals such as Glenferrie, KewFest & Children's Week for families to play with.
All families in our local community will be able to benefit from a range of new toys and games for KTL and hopefully attract more members so even more waste can be saved from going to landfill!

Just love the Toy Library, how could you not?. It’s indeed the community’s treasure chest. I’ve seen their team of volunteers working at many community events and I’m sure this funding prize would make a world of difference to the toy library and be gratefully appreciated.

Awesome Toy Library!! We love it! We could buy the toys but would much rather get maximum use out of them and borrow toys, keeps the variety up for our wee girl and stuff out of landfill. Much easier than selling again too.

The toy library doesn't only reduce toy waste, save cost of raising children, it also saves us effort of choosing right toys . Our family love the hight quality toys there. We would love to see kew try library grow with gov funding.

This is a fabulous community initiative. Toy libraries help new mothers connect to their local community, reduce landfill, extend the educational experiences of children, reduce screen time of children, assist low income families and create joy every time a child visits. This is also a great opportunity for extended families (grandparents) to assist in the raising of our precious future. Big claps to Kew Toy Library!

The toy library has been a savior for my family. We almost never purchase toys, and love that this community initiative brings so much joy to our kids and plays an important part for the environment
