Junior Playground at Grasmere PS

Grasmere PS presently has 105 students and the current junior playground is too small and unsafe for the students to actively play on. The students would benefit from new junior playground equipment - both physically and psychologically - and it would also improve the imaginative play of students during recess and lunch times. The current junior playground is inadequate due to the maintenance required. Sections of the play equipment are rotting and require welding and replacing. Due to the increase in student numbers, the school council has agreed in the best interest of the children to replace the junior playground.

In the last 10 years, Grasmere PS has grown from 20 students to 105 students. The current playground equipment does not cater to the continual growth in student numbers.

New junior playground equipment at Grasmere PS would benefit the local community within Grasmere by ensuring that all students could actively play on safe and secure equipment. The new junior playground equipment could include swings and specialised equipment for all students and the community to enjoy. The junior playground area is used by students and the community during weekends, especially during working bees and functions held in Grasmere Hall.
