Investing in training disengaged youth for a sustainable future

As a not-for-profit organisation, Skillinvest is committed to investing in community programs that aim to provide quality employment outcomes. In order to fund such programs, cost saving measures must be made in our daily running costs. Through the installation of solar panels on our office in Dandenong we can make significant ongoing cost savings to reinvest into our community programs. We currently run a re-engagement program for students in years 7, 8 and 9, designed to transition them back into education through a flexible, safe and non-threatening environment. The costs saved could ensure more students can access.

Participants in the Lift Off program have been identified as disengaging from school due to high levels of anxiety/emotional distress, depression, other mental health issues or family disruption.

The Lift Off Program provides students with a meaningful pathway by developing their vocational skills, academic abilities as well as assist in the referral to appropriate agencies for emotional, psychological, cognitive, familial or behaviour issues/stressors.

By providing the program to more students in the region we can provide better education outcomes and increase the likelihood of them gaining meaningful employment in the future.
