Intertwined is a three day festival that will flow from Having A Say, the largest conference for people with disability in Australia, and spill onto the Geelong Waterfront. We want people with disability, the broader community and visitors to celebrate the diversity of disability identity and pride. The Nebula, a fully accessible portable art studio will feature open art workshops and performances. The Sanctuary invites you to imagine and reflect on happiness, inclusion and safety. The Archi Loom is where you can weave and wrap your hopes, fears and dreams, and learn more about our shared humanity.

One of the biggest barriers people with disability face is other people’s attitudes. Intertwined is a vibrant participatory arts festival led by artists, musicians, and advocates who also happen to have a disability. Many Geelong creative organisations and groups are keen to share their stories, songs, and resilience with the broader community. The interactive nature of the project will offer an opportunity for people to have fun, be curious, challenge stereotypes, and to show how interwoven and connected we all are. It’s an experiential way of having a conversation about what true inclusion in Geelong is and can be.
