Intergeneration Community Arts

Live storytelling and a puppet show based on Albanian Folklore. The show will be performed by senior members of our community, addressed to an audience of kids and teens. At the end of these performances we will have a discussion with the children to reflect on the stories and lessons learnt.
For many reasons, the youth of the Albanian community in Victoria, has not had the opportunity of learning about their culture and language. We believe that the presence and engagement of seniors will be more effective, providing a friendlier and natural way of teaching/engaging the next generation.

Younger and older people are the two groups most affected by ageist attitude and marginalization in our society. This project can positively contribute by building active communities.
- Would be educational for those kids who might not have grandparents or live close to grandparents to engage with seniors.
- This project will be beneficial for seniors in our community to pass on the culture and wisdom to the younger generation.
- The venue also needs a lighting and audio system. The lighting and audio system we’ll be installing will be available for use by other communities that hire the venue.
