Interactive Art Space Basketball Court

Our project will benefit the community in a number of ways including

- Make locals more proud and connected to public outdoor spaces
- Increasing interaction with artistic community and much needed encouragement for local artists increasing desirability of public space, leading to further investment in the local area
- Create positive and lively active environment
- Be used in conjunction with follow up art projects (sculptures, installations) to create an 'art zone'

We are hoping to install museum quality art works on local basketball courts, specifically Surrey Park basketball courts. We hope to come to a final design that is aesthetically pleasing, inviting and that is in accordance with safety regulations of the Whitehorse Council. The current state of the court is poor and unlevel, so resurfacing would need to be undertaken. Then we will paint the court with 2 separate layers of outdoor paint, including a non-slip additive on the top layer. Once complete, it will be an interactive, beautiful, inspiring and fully functional basketball court.
