Inspiring and educating through choreography.

I (Tori) am choreographing the Premier Australian performance of Battle of Boat & would love to extend the performance timeline to be able to present this & other projects in schools and to other community groups.

Set during WW1, the story follows a regular group of children trying to find their place in a world at war, trying to understand what their men-folk are leaving home to fight for, believing that everything will return to normal , but not sure what they can do to help, feeling helpless.
I would love to follow this performance with more meaningful community performances.

The choreographer (me-Tori) is 17 years of age and the students performing the musical are 12 to 16 years and are from a variety of backgrounds including disadvantaged.
I have been developing my choreography skills and am passionate about telling this & other inspiring and beautiful stories through dance. I believe that the outlet that being involved in performing arts is necessary to communities, be it from the view of an audience, performer, technician or organiser. For teenagers performing, this is a uniting, challenging and rewarding experience for all, and this story in particular is both inspiring and educational.
