As a partner of Port Phillip Specialist School I will provide water safety education sessions to the community at no cost to participants on completion of minor upgrades to the School Aquatics Centre. This will work towards reducing the drowning rates Victorians of all ages. Backyard pool drownings accounted for 291 people in the state of Victoria and these sessions will attempt to educate our local community about water safety.

Our project will aim to prevent further drownings by providing education to adults, youth, pre-school and school aged children by giving them both knowledge and practical experience in and around the water. These sessions will be catered dependant on age of participants and will vary according to abilities and current skill level around water. Individuals will attend one free session and then be offered further programs to encourage them to participate in water safety programs.

Rarely does a community cry out for inclusive projects and actually receive them. Hosting this at Port Phillip Specialist school guarantees it. This shouldn't be about picking favourites yet the government we elected is forcing us to do this. Selecting thus project is a must.
