'Out of the Woods' offers an accessible and quality arts program providing weekly workshops for 20 people with disabilities plus carers to attend 40 x 2-hour workshops facilitated by three local performing artists at the Laverton Community Hub.
Local performing arts groups and artists will be invited to collaborate with the group to develop original music and performances to be recorded, documented and developed into a enduring arts product.
A public performance outcome is developed with elements of song, dance and theatre, culminating in a performance presented at the Substation as part of the 2019 Newport Folk and Fiddle Festival.

'Out of the Woods' will significantly benefit the participants through regular arts activity for their creative and social development.
This will provide equal opportunity for people with a disability and their carers to access cultural and social interaction and experience.
It will give the opportunity for the local community to celebrate the creative achievements of its residents with disabilities and mental health issues.
It will give opportunities for artistic collaborations with the wider community promoting greater understanding, interaction and participation for all.
There is currently no local arts program or performance opportunities for people with a disability in our area.
