The walkways from our two carparks to the tennis & croquet, as well as, the soccer clubrooms are dark at night. Our joint facilities are used for twilight/night competitions and regularly hired out to the community for a variety of celebrations.
The security of our users is paramount when leaving the complex and returning to their cars. Lack of adequate security lighting has been a regular complaint from patrons.
This project will install bollard lights and strategically placed overhead security lighting to illuminate the pathways at night and increase the confidence of night time users of our facilities.

The local community as well as users of our facilities will benefit from this project as the walkways are used by the community to stroll around the recreation reserve, taking the dog for a run or for exercise in general.
We have a playground that is adjoining the walkway. Lighting on the walkway would improve safety for users. Vandalism would be reduced. Where possible, solar lighting would be the preferred type of lighting. This would also benefit the community users, tennis, croquet and soccer clubs by reducing electricity costs by requiring limited ongoing costs.

What a valuable asset this would be to all visitors to Ken Harrison reserve. It’s a sad fact that we need to be so vigilant about our personal safety at night these days but this would help with that immensely.
