The scope is to build and maintain a permanent and sustainable Community Garden at Allwood Neighbourhood House. The garden will include: fences and gates; raised garden beds enabling disability access; wicking, hay bale and recycled tire beds; covered seating area with information boards (planting and harvest times, companion planting, etc.); compost system, automatic irrigation system and rainwater tank.

The GreenHeart Community Garden is to provide a space for the community to come together to learn about permaculture, wholesome gardening practices and to encourage them to live a more environmentally sustainable lifestyle. The garden will also provide a social focus point with opportunities to build connections within the community to combat social isolation and disconnection, e.g. working bees, community lunch/soup kitchen, food swaps, etc.

A local place for the community to not only come together to share but also to learn from one another. To go home with a new friend you didn't even know you had and to put back into the town that sustains your lifestyle. If any of this feels familiar then please support this drive.
