Hume interfaith Network Multifaith project

Over the life of the HIN the coordinated visits to places of worship have provided meaningful interaction for both the council staff and broader community . HIN, not only helped in building the capacity of the Executive members to professionally support Council but also empowerd Faith Leaders to implement this training in their own communities. We will continue look to further deepen the understanding of faith communities with local businesses and schools, develop a new directory of places of worship, build the capacity around Family Violence, Drug and Alcohol abuse and celebrate our strength in diversity.

The HIN is the only unique platform where Faith/Community leaders as well as HIN Youth, work together to foster a deeper level of engagement across cultures and faiths in Hume. The broad repersentation of faith and community Leaders has allowed HIN to reach out to all communities in an inclusive and harmonious manner sync with Hume City Council's values of promoting diversity and inclusivity. All Faith based organisations and leaders have a broad following across municipality. Their presence coupled with their capacity to deliver critical services, allows to mobilize grassroots support for council initiatives and earn the trust of everyone
