Hume City Community Family Fun Day

Broady Park Slam is a 3-on-3 basketball competition married with a family fun day at Johnstone St Reserve. The event, created by Project Fatu, is for youth in Broadmeadows. We play, love and have experience in organising basketball competitions and are aware of the benefits basketball has as a team sport. Our Purpose is to hold a community event at Johnstone St Reserve to; highlight and promote the outdoor council maintained facilities; promote youth services that operate within The City of Hume; and use the event to bring Youth Services workers to the fore.

Our project aims to benefit the community by inviting youth supported by families to participate in a short structured 3-on-3 basketball competition organised by Melbourne Titans, local-domestic basketball club.
The event will be catered and have other family-friendly activities such as field games and a jumping castle - enjoyed by all at no cost. We aim to bring local youth support-services to the fore to raise mental health and wellbeing awareness for young people. We aim to establish pathways for disadvantaged youth within City of Hume to be engaged in local basketball opportunities at domestic and representative levels.
