It's time to share positive local stories! We'll INSPIRE, CONNECT, STRENGTHEN our community by producing an inspirational, educational 200-page book: -45 stories about local change-makers -additional 35 uplifting quotes -listing all 250 stories to date -stunning local photos -capturing hearts, minds and souls -free copies for schools, libraries, neighbourhood houses and community groups -uniting our community, and the world, with positivity, creativity, hope, education and resilience -backed by City of Greater Geelong, Geelong Library and Geelong Sustainability Inc. Humans in Geelong - a dedicated team of volunteers, with no funding, using social media and demonstrating uplifting community benefits.
Geelong’s in the midst of transformation from a manufacturing hub to a vital clever and creative region.
Using storytelling, as does Aaron Foley, Chief Storyteller in Detroit USA, our book will INSPIRE, CONNECT, STRENGTHEN our community by:
• contributing to creating a fair, just and empathetic community
• supporting local job creation and diverse volunteer contributions
• delivering inspiring ‘Humans in Geelong’ talks & free books to libraries, schools, media, business & BNIs, service clubs, emergency services, faith communities, seniors, multicultural, community, women’s and men’s groups
Stories are powerful and uplifting, they arouse feelings, open minds and stimulate positive change.
