HUE Court Music Showcase - Brimbank and Moreland municipalities

Royal Refined Music was introduced in the 13th century and reached its peak under the Nguyen Dynasty in the 19th century. Recognised as the symbol of a powerful and long-lasting monarchy and as an indispensable part of all royal ceremonies, Royal Refined Music was appraised by the UNESCO Council as an elegant and refined music with high artistic value.

Celebrating the Vietnamese traditional Tet 2019, the Melbourne-based Nha Nhac group, together with two professional musicians, will showcase their inaugural performances to the wider audience who love to enjoy the long history of Vietnamese Royal Music.

With its high artistic value, Royal Refined Music is widely known and expected at many community festivals of the immigrant Vietnamese community, especially in the older generation.

There is also a need to preserve this exceptional art form by introducing it to the younger generations who were born and grown up here in Australia.

Showcasing Royal Refined Music is an opportunity to share and exchange the Vietnamese culture and the long history of Vietnamese music to the wider community.
