A 'by youth for youth' space with focus on art and music activities as well as lounge and computer space for private study and Centrelink access.
Volunteers from Ambition Society Events (currently running monthly underage events attended by 200-300 young people) and local agency workers, are available from 2pm to 10pm initially with a view for some activities to be run during the night. Local youth (via the Hands Up Mallee Youth group and affiliated groups) are driving the project, with support from Mark Haynes (Cultivator) Lower Murray Water and Sunraysia Community Health Services.

Homeless and disengaged youth will find a place to connect and build skills in the art and music field, with mentoring from Ambition Society Events and artists affiliated with the rich Sunraysia art scene (Fringe and Mainstream) supported by local council and businesses. Authentic opportunity for warm referral to agencies as relationships, self image and rapport develop.
We have many volunteers and mentors within our community, who are looking for meaningful way to connect with community and this central venue will offer a safe yet slightly 'edgy' space to build on local ideas and initiatives with a youth focus.

The young people who put this project together are truly impressive. They had my vote as soon as I heard their presentation!

What a fantastic initiative for youth in the region! This is something that should be supported and grown to empower young people.

People power! Young people are the solution, not the problem. Give them the resources they need to make the change we all want to see in our community. Healthy connected and thriving young people.

Grassroots experiences and committed people are driving this project. Many volunteers and an opportunity to engage in a number of activities, will allow for a space to develop further activities so that our community can honestly say we have listened, we have heard, we have acted.

The local youth a place they can feel safe, accepted and have access to a range of activities and services that will improve their lives. Youth are our future and we need to listen to them and show we care, not just through talk, but through actions.

This is something i feel strong about, having a youth centre could and would make mildura a better eplace for the youth. I wish there was something along these lines for me when i was younger.

This is exactly what the young people of our town need. I wish that there had been a Home Base when I was younger.
