Acknowledging our valuable heritage, resources and High Country Brumbies, in the form of sculpture 'Hobby Horses' at the Benambra Community Park. Bringing Brumbies in from the bush to a civilized society, in an art form that can be admired, touched, encourages interactive play and understanding. A place where children can ride a High Country Brumby, a meeting place for families, a destination for visitors, and a place for community groups to socialise. The Brumbies pivoting heads will be made of local granite to acknowledge the rich resources of our area, the mining history and the Mountain Cattlemen steeds.

Benambra has no public art, this being the first art space. The sculptures will be a part of our public history, part of our evolving culture and our collective memory of the present and past. It reflects and reveals our heritage and adds meaning to our small town. The tactile sculptures will inspire community artists, provide an opportunity for our youth to admire and respect public art and deliver an imaginative play area for local children. The art space will draw visitors to town, supporting local business and learn about our rich heritage, depth of community and local resources.
