The project will replace and upgrade the existing and unusable tennis/netball court with a new netball/basketball court with lighting. The area beside the court will be an area for outdoor fitness training equipment. We will also upgrade the lighting to the existing netball court. There will be some added fitness training equipment next to the children playground. The community will have access to all the new equipment and courts The project will help maintain sports for women/girls and healthier life style in a small community.
The additional netball/basketball court will help maintain sport in the local community without having to travel large distances to play sport. At present, with the increase of the number of netball sides to the king valley football/netball club, girls have to travel to Wangaratta to train. The outdoor fitness training equipment will allow people of all ages and genders to maintain a healthier life style without traveling large distances. The addition of the basketball court will allow additional sports to be played locally.
