The hall is a vital community asset supporting a variety of activities and events. The proposed upgrades will provide an increase to the range of possible uses of the hall as well as enhance the character and visual quality of the heart of the township. The upgrades will visually connect the hall to the street as well as the abundant surrounding open space.
A key objective of this project is to create a welcoming area in front of the hall that can be used by locals and visitors alike to appreciate the wonderful landscape of Harrietville.
The multi-purpose room will be a light filled space suitable for small meetings and gatherings, complimenting the existing large hall area. The entry foyer will be upgraded to better address the street as well as providing a larger space leading the both the main hall and new multi-purpose room. The addition of the storage room to the main hall will free up space through the removal of unused chairs and tables.
These upgrades will greatly improve the usefulness of the hall as well as lift the sense of place of the township.

Our Hall is a much underused resource. Hopefully an improvement in the facilities and flexibility will encourage more usage.

Really Reggie go the whole hog you get a 50 metre pool put in the Shane might just help out with a 25 m it would be epic and that's in all the people from Bright that end up going to Wangaratta for a swim will end up coming to Harrietville putting money into the local economy 25 m pool please

As a regular user of this facility, the Harrietville Hall definitely needs an upgrade and extension to expand on and make it more flexible for our needs, a wonderful asset to the town.

I would like the new 'look' hall to incorporate some of the old history of the original Athenaeum Hall & Library. Harrietville has some wonderful history ... I would like to see this reflected in our hall AND to have public toilets available in the middle of town. Good luck!
