The Harrietville Community Shed is an open and available venue that will make Harrietville an even better place to live by bringing recreation back to the Recreation Reserve. Located next to Charlie Miley track, at the Shed Harrietvillians can pursue whatever creative or practical endeavours they desire. Designing, making, mending, recycling or reimagining pre-loved possessions, participating in skilled and unskilled hobbies/ crafts or enjoying teaching and learning activities. Participation is at their leisure and for their pleasure. If you're more a looker than a maker, wander over to see what locals are up to, have a chat in our shed-lounge.

Shed activities will inspire and motivate community inclusion, arts, culture, skills, innovation, education, and healthy recreation. Fun stuff like furniture making, upholstering, metal , clay or wood sculpting, laser-cutting, screen-printing, boomerang-bag-working-bees, tie-dying, lead-lighting, indoor soccer, epic-sized-hop-scotch, painting, exhibiting, beginner/master classes of all kinds, are a few suggestions so far. Having the opportunity to go somewhere in your hometown where everyone always feels welcome, with no strings attached, is priceless. To do meaningful, interesting activities with old and new friends, learning about each others' talents, skills and potentials is a treat. Having memories of time well spent is a joy. That's-Harrietville-Community-Shed.

A shed that's not just for men? A shed where anyone can learn new practical & artisan skills whilst meeting people? Brilliant, I'm in! And I live in Bright so The Shed will serve more communities than just Harrietville.

I think this project would be extremely valuable for the community to connect and engage with each other and learn new skills without having to travel vast distances.
