Establishment of a school-based clinic
Why is it needed?
Young people and their families who are struggling in our community have difficulty accessing help due to cost, transport, and availability of services. Young people with emotional, behavioural and physical health needs often go without help.

What will be offered?
A partnership between local Schools, Kinders and health services will get these kids the help they need:
- Mental health services provided at Euroa Primary School by a Provisional Psychologist under the supervision of Dr. Kate Reid, Clinical Psychologist.
- Paediatric services by Dr. Patrick Stark - visiting every two months.

Happy Healthy Kids project will benefit the local community by;
Improving health outcomes for children struggling with physical, emotional and social needs.
Preventing poor mental health outcomes for our young people
Improving family functioning of vulnerable families.
Improving behaviour and engagement in school and community settings.
Improving student academic outcomes.
Increased chances of community people setting up links with these young people.
Improve family engagement in schools and community activities
Reduced stress for teachers, coaches, friends and family who support these young people.
Early intervention to prevent problems in our community.
Engaging extra services for our community.
Reducing waiting times

This initiative would have a significant impact on the outcomes for young people in our rural community where much needed services are very few or non existent. The mental health and well being of our young people is paramount to them feeling valued, being valued and being engaged within their community. Best of luck with this much needed initiative.
