Habo is amazing.
This is a very worthy cause for an inspiring organisation that has been around for years and needs to be around for many many years to come.

The Habonim Community Centre is a "Place of Assembly". Our project is designed to maximise the use and function of this space. The Habonim Hall and outdoor recreational grounds are currently not able to be fully utilised as they are both in a state of disrepair (fencing, boundary retaining walls, landscaping, uneven surfaces) and the large hall’s internal acoustics and sound suppression are inadequate for more regular use by community groups. Once complete, use by a broad range of community groups including the local school, dance and music groups, social sports, informal education and community festivals will significantly increase.
Rectifying the current state of disrepair of the Habonim Community Centre will remove an eyesore from the community and significantly improve its usability thereby meeting the increasing demand from the community for a local venue to house music, dance, informal education and social sports activities and for festival space.. The outdoor recreation area has a damaged and uneven surface and no landscape buffering for both visual and sound absorption amenity. The large community hall does not have suitable acoustic treatment for users (echo and reverberation) and neighbours’ (sound suppression). This project enables substantial increase in community use of the Centre.

Most definitely a worthy project!
The house, hall and outdoor area has been utilised by many children and teenagers for about 60 years mainly on weekends. A refurbishment that will allow future use on weekends and weekdays while shielding the neighbours from loud noise is an opportunity for healthy community activity
A worthwhile project for young Melbournians.
