The Friends of Grove Street Reserve have a vision to transform our park into a fantastically vibrant and natural community space for all to enjoy. Our vision is to regenerate the natural landscape to improve the natural aesthetic of the site, build community connection to our native flora and fauna, improve nature play opportunities, access/seating for senior residents and improve road safety and protection for pedestrians. The project will create a Pollination Corridor through vibrant and colourful indigenous plantings, create a Dry Creek-scape to improve stormwater management and nature based play opportunities and an Artful Bollards community art project.

This project will improve local community cohesion and vibrancy. The site is an important gathering place for local parents, grandparents and children from the surrounding neighbourhood and Eltham East Primary School. The park is also located on the main pedestrian route into town and connects a number of key green corridors, linear parks and walking trails. The project will encourage a sense of ownership and stewardship of our shared green spaces, it will encourage the community to have a closer connection to nature which in turn has many positive benefits for the mental and physical health and wellbeing of residents.

What a fantastic idea! Located so close to a school and in a great family community.

Great idea. Don't forget about safe pedestrian crossings to this reserve over the Grove st.
