Greens Lake is a popular waterway in Corop, south of Echuca, with facilities available all-year round to the public, including a picnic area, large grassy spaces and boat ramp access onto the lake. Other permitted activities include camping and fishing. The current toilet block has been condemned due to its dilapidated condition, therefore creating a hazard for the area as a whole. The development of an amenity block at the lake will cater to a range of needs including disabled people and families with young children, and provide the community with free, accessible, essential services while they visit.

Recreational spaces provide many advantages to communities: informal sport and recreation, preservation of natural environments, and provision of green space. Participation in active recreation also plays a key role in combating growing levels of obesity and helps prevent lifestyle-related diseases. Thus, improving access to public open space has the potential to increase levels of physical activity and have mental health benefits to a larger range of people in our communities.
GMW developed a Land & On-Water Management Plan in 2014 where the community identified the need for investment in the existing amenity block.

This is a great place to visit but without amenities it is a health hazard with young children using the port-aloos that are on site that haven’t been cleaned in the 2 weeks that I was here for. Disgraceful Council

This facility's upgrade is long overdue.

How is this even an issue? Should be replaced immediantly, shouldnt have to be put to a vote. This is an important sanitation issue that affects hundreds if not thousands of people all year round. If councils can waste $30,000 on a seat in the cbd (Bendigo council) surely a council can come up with the funds for something so desperatly needed. Goulburn Murray Water, get on to it.

Could we have a working bee or 10 including tradies to cut cost which seems to be a bit over the fence to me,many fit people camp here and I’m sure wouldn’t mind putting in a few hours for the camping facilities supplied

I stopped in here to make water on my way home from Bendigo. There was a huge crack in the brick work of the toilet block. The park was full of caravans and there were people everywhere. I nice spot, toilet block needs to be replaced.
