We would love to make our Hall a safe and effective place for a community refuge, there are several items that we need for this to happen. Solar panels and battery backup would allow us to be a stand alone centre, giving access to water and essential services. Access to the grounds, BBQs and bore water is available to general public and used daily for recreation, access to the hall can be organised with the Camperdown-Timboon Railtrail committee. Without the cost of power uses will be able to increase exponentially and be restored to the vibrant hub it once was
Immediately following the St Patricks Day fires 2018, in which our community was drastically affected, the Glenfyne community banded together to acquire a temporary generator for the Hall to allow us access to power and water. Solar panels and battery backup would allow us to access the Hall and its ammenities giving the community a change to debrief and recover. During the fires our bore tank was used and emptied by the fire trucks and the residual used in the following days to water cattle, until power was restored. Unfortunately this is no longer operational and requires repairs.
