Give north east: Live community crowdfunding events

This will be an exciting and innovative crowdfunding event that will create deep connections between local people with worthy community projects that need support.

Open to all people in our region, the event is an introduction to community philanthropy and the possibilities of giving back locally.

It will host a fun and interactive crowdfunding session where attendees can contribute and get involved with the Community Foundation's efforts to support local projects and non-profits.

Activities will include: mentoring/pitch coaching for local non-profits; live fundraising activities for community projects; education about philanthropy; publication/brochure; post event follow-up with attendees.

In regional communities, non-profits and local charity groups are stretched and often not connected to philanthropic funding that could boost their activities and ability to respond. This event will benefit local non-profits by developing their connections with people and networks who can assist them to grow their programs and impact. It will also build charities' capacity to discuss their programs and challenges with community and fundraise effectively (expected $30,000+). Secondly, the event will educate our community about the advantages of giving locally, where support is needed. Lastly, the event will leverage funds for local projects, enhancing the work of Into-Our-Hands.
