Gippsland School of Arts (GSA)

The school will be available for the whole community to use. It is a space where people can meet, chat and complete work using the available equipment, with help from a qualified teacher/s. Community members will be able to enroll in short courses, which will include life and basic drawing, painting fundamentals, photography and digital imaging. Enrolled members will produce an array of work for display using their medium/s of choice including portraits, still-life and nature.
The GSA is targeted at those interested in learning and developing skills across a range of art disciplines in a safe and inspirational environment.

Art training is currently under represented in Gippsland with preference given to technology and science programs. Art however, can bring innovation, produce better problem solvers and develop creative thinking skills.
Art teaches risk taking, being open to change, increases attention and strengthens focus.
Art helps us to see the world in a different way and remain open minded. It enables us to express feelings that as individuals we may find hard to otherwise articulate otherwise. It removes limitations, replacing them with wonder, critique, inquiry and innovation.
