Funds are sought to grade and gravel a one kilometre elevated nature trail and install 600 metres of chainmesh hand rails on three former railway bridges to make it safe for the general public to access. This project will provide quality vocational training for a diversity of volunteers in metal fabrication and fencing, and employ disadvantaged youths to deliver aspects of this project. Once complete, this stunning trail will connect cyclists and pedestrians of all ages and abilities to the CBD of both Albury and Wodonga via the raised railway corridor through Gateway Island.

There is lots of research documenting the health and wellbeing benefits of connecting with nature. This project opens up access on foot and bike to people of all ages and abilities.

There is a skills shortage in metal fabrication and welding in this region. This project provides casual employment for marginalized and valuable hands-on training for volunteers, improves the mental health and wellbeing of volunteers involved and the general public.

This project will enable all to safely walk and cycle along this elevated nature trail and immerse themselves in the conservation values of this stunning corridor
