This would be a 10-12 month immersive learning program for youths to be involved in. These people would be involved in restoring old boats, learning about the skills of fishing in Port Phillip and applying these skills directly in the bay. The participants would be rewarded for their hard work by using their new skills as a way of providing them with a meal (with the fish they catch). The aim would be to engage the youths of our community, whilst also teaching them valuable skills and offering them a safe and concrete place in which they can escape reality.

Port to plate will be extremely beneficial for the local Port Phillip community. In Port Phillip, youth engagement is a problem that faces the community. Port to Plate is a project that will offer support and safety to disengaged youths, a project that will provide some of the much needed solution to the problem. Not only does this project engage members of the community who could be disadvantaged, but it also gives a general opportunity to kids/teens to find a new hobby or recreation. From Port to Plate allows for these youths to have a safe haven, a home.
