The food van will be a practical learning environment for community members who have barriers to employment. We will work with participants to develop skills in food safety, barista and decision making in a holistic approach aimed to encourage and empower . Our purpose will be to develop skills and pathways for individuals for further training and employment opportunities. Our philiosophy is to walk alongside participants in the development of these new skills through participation in our productive gardens, kitchens and food van service.

Those with barriers to employment such as people with a disability, parents returning to work and long term unemployed will have the opportunity to develop skills and experience within the food van operation. The skills and experience obtained will offer individuals increased opportunity to gain employment and / or pathways to further qualifications. The van will operate during special events, lunchtime deliveries once a week, markets and for requested catering opportunities, giving participants a wide range of experiences.

What a vibrant and imaginative idea to help some of the area's most disadvantaged. I wish you all the best and you are on my shortlist!
