Free Music Education For All

Free Music Lessons is a fully funded one year program that gives free access to any member of the community to learn an instrument and or join a band through the Moreland City Band Hall in East Brunswick. You can bring your own instrument or borrow one from the MCB (Moreland City Band). Learn to play: trumpet/trombone/tuba/euphonium; saxophone/clarinet/flute; guitar (electric or acoustic, bass-electric or acoustic; piano/keyboards/accordion; violin/viola/cello; voice; drumset; percussion. Book or drop in for a lesson/band rehearsal.
Lessons capped at six participants per class
Lessons Monday to Friday 4-5pm Saturday 10am-12pm
Band rehearsals Monday to Friday 5.30-7pm Saturday 12.30-2.30pm

The local community will benefit from the project by: removing financial barriers from the pursuit of music education. Having access to and learning from some of Australia’s leading music performers and educators. Cognitive and health benefits for children and adults of any age, including increased mental stimulation, memory capacity, enhanced coordination, team skills, social interaction, perseverance, and fighting dementia. Social cohesion: this project will bring together people from different cultural and social backgrounds to share a universal cultural practice and offer free concerts/recitals for the whole community. Creating a wider appreciation for music and art within the community.
