The idea is to offer a community-based internet. The goal is to set up new ways to get net connections, without prejudice, whether in metropolitan, regional, rural or disadvantaged areas. The free community networks are an accessible, easy to set up, community based idea. It expands existing Wi-Fi connections using the latest technology in access points in and around a large area. This allows anyone to access free internet which can be used by the whole community. The system also allows adding powerful third-party integrations that can include the latest IoT equipment making the system future proof.
- Cost saving for extending internet across larger areas
- Open community internet access for free (e.g. Not for profits)
- Accessible, easy to set up and install
- Can be used as an emergency broadcast system
- Plug play technology that can be used in any building (e.g heritage buildings)
- Community portal for local business and community groups, providing separate secure, private networks.
- Splash pages for advertising local events, information, local businesses
- Secure and reliable
- Cloud based and uncomplicated
-Scalable, extendable connection
-Seamless roaming throughout the network, making it easy to scale up any location
