Free Casey Community Cinema Under the Stars Events

Our project will provide the community in Casey with 10 open-air cinema events where they can come together in the spirit of fun, friendship and acceptance. Each event will foster community wellbeing by social and cultural inclusion. The program will run between January - April 2019, inviting 1000 attendees at each event. The event will be free-of-charge to the community. From five-80 years old, kids to great grandparents, there is something for everyone. The sites will include Berwick , Cranbourne, Hampton Park, Fountain Gate and Tooradin. Sites will have between two to three movie sessions at each site.

Our project will provide 10 free movie events throughout the City of Casey, benefiting the community of Casey by bringing people together. Movies have the ability to immerse the viewer for a brief period into another life or world, and are often most enjoyed with others. Cinema Under the Stars provides a unique way for community to come together and enjoy an outdoor community space. Offering these events for free will benefit those experiencing hardship, who may rarely treat themselves to a cinema experience.
