Framing the Frontier workshops/residency series bring those at the frontiers of science and art together over our country table. Community/school workshops addressing issues of local interest: - five scientists present their work; - facilitated discussion; - community lunch; -five artists provide artistic response, hands-on art/science activities. Ongoing collaboration: - online network "Find a Collaborator". Collaborative residency: local community hosts artist/scientist pairs over three weekends to develop a project with local connection, run school sessions "the art in science, the science in art" and engage residents/businesses over community lunch. Framing the Frontier works/student projects exhibited at the 2019 Castlemaine State Festival.

Framing the Frontier brings the frontiers of science and art to the geographical frontiers - relative to the city's edge at least, to see creativity and community grow. - Expanding Knowledge! - Normalising regional communities as places that exciting science, art and innovation happen. - Access to leading scientists and artists: inspiration to diverse career pathways for regional youth. - Opportunities to participate in science/art collaborations. -Direct access/input into priorities for research and design matching community priorities. - Building connection, mental health through participation as hosts and audiences. - Ongoing engagement with science/art research through projects with local relevance.
