Footscray North tree planting and greening project

The greening project will consist of works to improve the quality of open space accessible to the community at Footscray North Primary School grounds by:
- increasing green area for variety of planting, productive gardens
- extensive new tree planting for shade and health benefits
- nature play area for increased interaction with natural environments
- seating for improved community amenity and gathering
- soft court surfaces for multisport and play

The open space at Footscray North Primary School has enormous potential to improve the health and wellbeing of our local community by providing increased green space and tree canopy to encourage families to spend more time outside and be active. The existing grounds are largely paved and offer little amenity or welcome. The project will benefit our local community who will enjoy access outside of school hours to large gardens, treed areas and improved play and court spaces. These improvements could be vital to our neighbourhood which has a shortage of open space and high socio-economic disadvantage.
