Kyneton Caring Community (KCC) is an independent, community-based association, whose primary purpose is to support those in our local community who find themselves in need. KCC’s aim is to provide a safety-net for members of the community by delivering services including: a free foodbank; an emergency relief service (clothing, household items); a drop-in centre and soup kitchen; and a need assessment and referral service to other local agencies and service providers. The project aim is to expand our free foodbank services in the local Kyneton district, and help other communities within the Macedon Ranges establish their own free foodbank service.

KCC’s free foodbank is typically helping over 280 families per month from both the Kyneton area and many other towns within the Macedon Ranges, including Woodend, Gisborne and Romsey, as well as other towns in the wider region like Maryborough. KCC’s expansion of the free foodbank will allow us to upgrade our facilities in our Kyneton base to cater for the increased demand we are experiencing. Enabling us to support and mentor other communities in our region to establish similar free foodbank services within their local communities. This service addresses two basic human needs – food and community.

Food insecurity is an blight on our country. Thanks to the large hearts of the people running this and the volunteers we can reach out to those in need in our community.

A truely ground roots organization providing non judgemental assistance for those who might otherwise slip through the cracks. Always delivered with a big smile and an open heart.
