We live in a stunning environment, on Lake Tyers. Through FLOATWORKS we will offer a year-long program of artists, makers, weavers, scientists, and story gatherers - delivering free workshops to the community. Creative workshops will emphasise conscious use of resources - recycled and discarded, and locally sourced natural materials. Podcasts and mapping projects will track our journey. All sessions will be enhanced by conversation, cultural walks, citizen science or 'clean-up' activities, and simply-shared local produce. Individual and community artworks produced will be exhibited in the pop-up gallery - a converted shipping container located @ Oneonta Community Garden.
Local and international artists are now keen to discover Lake Tyers thanks to our recently built FLOATing art studio.
FLOATWORKS will now offer a community designed and delivered program that will nurture diverse and cross-cultural connectedness.
FLOATWORKS will provide community access to fresh artists and ideas - and vice versa. Locals can also expect to guide our visitors to be sensitive, inspired and informed travellers.
FLOATWORKS will allow the economic, social and environmental opportunities of creativity to flourish and infiltrate the entire community. Everyone who chooses to participate will understand the power of community to create opportunity.
