Fitzroy Tennis Club rejuvenation and revitalization

New lights will eliminate the variable lighting and dark spots which make it hard for me as an older person to see the ball in some parts of the court. Better drainage will mean the courts are available faster after wet weather.

It will help enable more young and old people to play, it’s a great community resource.

Great idea. Would allow better playing in the winter months and at night.

The Fitzroy Tennis Club is a wonderful venue community club that caters to all ages and skills. It is in desperate need of funding to enable it to upgrade it's amenities, in particular court lighting which currently does not meet minimum standards for competition. Enabling people to play at nighttime would provide for further physical exercise, something to be encouraged given the rapidly growing rates of obesity and metabolic syndrome within the Australian population.

This is a great club that absolutely deserves support!

The Fitzroy Tennis club is a friendly and inclusive local sporting resource that is in desperate need of some capital expenditure to allow full utilisation of the space.
We as a community need to encourage participation in physical exercise, for lots of healthy reasons, and this is particularly relevant now given the growing obesity epidemic.

This is a wonderful community area and the courts are well used by all age groups and all grades of tennis players. It provides a fantastic social environment, encourages physical activity and is also of great historical significance. It should be supported to continue its community role, and to maintain its status as a community hub.

It provides a really important facility that supports social and health benefits With the growth of residential population there increasing demand and pressure on tennis courts. A much needed project. The current lighting is so poor that many players, like myself, cannot play at night time. I agree with Adam that the facilities in general need upgrading. A new club house should be next!!!

Much needed upgrade, Yarra need to get on board with this as we are ironically having trouble tonight with the lights. The facilities at the club are getting very old and it’s about time we had some support from our local government.
