Fawkner Inclusive Junior Development Tennis Program

The Free Tennis Program is aimed at youth in the Fawkner area. The program will target 50 kids from multicultural groups and the community. Contact will be made in various languages to increase the chance of participation. It will be a fully inclusive program that will include free coaching for 50 kids for 12 months. It will also include free tennis club memberships. Once the program ends, there will be social event for all the kids and families to socialise. This program is important to engage with youth and especially girls within society.

This program will provide the experience of tennis to 50 kids from our community and be an all inclusive program. We are in one of the highest growing municipalities in Victoria. Many are from multicultural backgrounds/early migrants or from low socio-economic backgrounds in need of more social and inclusive activities. Our challenge is the high cost of equipment and coaching. We would like to engage our youth especially girls to ensure they are provided with opportunities to play sport.
